How it works
- Each market has its own pool. A market’s pool is the available stock at the locations that ship to that market, plus its oversell limit.
- The variant sells while any pool is open. Shoppers in a market whose pool is used up see the variant as sold out.
- On Shopify Plus, checkout enforces each market’s limit. Bloom adds the checkout rule Bloom: Pre-order limits by market and switches it on and off itself. You don’t change anything in Settings → Checkout. A cart over the limit shows “Only 5 left to pre-order” or “This item is sold out for pre-order”. On other plans, Shopify doesn’t run the rule, so limits apply on the storefront only.
- Messages follow the shopper’s market. The product page and cart show that market’s message and ship date.
Override a setting for one market
- In Shopify admin, open Apps → Bloom.
- Go to Pre-order → Configure products.
- Open the Market overrides dropdown and pick a market.
- Edit the fields for that market.
- Click Save.
- Pre-order on/off
- Oversell limit
- Message on PDP and Message in cart
- Ships on
- Show pre-order after
Market overrides are only in Configure products. The Bloom: Pre-order editor on Shopify’s product page edits the defaults.
Share inventory across markets
Off by default. Turn it on to treat every market as one pool with a single oversell limit, as before. Stock in one market can then be sold as pre-order in another. The Market overrides dropdown and market CSV columns disappear.- In Shopify admin, open Apps → Bloom.
- Go to Pre-order → Settings → Auto-release orders.
- Tick Share inventory across markets.
- Click Save.
Releases
With Reduce pre-order limit as stock arrives on, stock arriving at a market’s locations lowers that market’s override. Stock arriving at locations of markets without an override lowers the default limit. See Release orders.Bulk edit by CSV
The Products CSV adds one column per market for each setting, e.g.oversell_limit:<market id>. Blank uses the default. See Products CSV.
