Sold out estimates how many orders and how much revenue you missed on variants that were out of stock. Bloom matches your Google Analytics 4 page views against your Shopify stock and sales history. The numbers are estimates. The import is a one-off. Bloom reads up to 12 months of data, then disconnects from Google.

Before you start

  • A Google Analytics 4 property that records your storefront’s product page views.
  • Product page addresses that include ?variant=. Without it, Bloom can’t tell which variant a shopper viewed.
  • Shopify’s read_reports permission - Bloom reads daily stock and sales history from your Shopify reports with it. It’s optional, and Bloom asks for it when you connect.
  • A Google account with access to that property. Access is read-only.

Steps

  1. In Shopify admin, open Apps → Bloom → Sold out → Missed revenue.
  2. Click Connect Google Analytics and approve read-only access in Google.
  3. If your Google account has more than one property, pick your store’s from the list and click Start import. Search by property, domain, account or ID. Cancel disconnects without importing. With one match, Bloom picks it for you.
  4. On the Connection complete page, click Continue.
  5. Wait while Bloom imports. Progress shows each step, from reading your products and daily stock history to matching views to sold-out days. You can leave the page.
Bloom imports:
  • Daily stock levels per variant.
  • Daily Online Store sales per variant.
  • Daily product page views per variant, from Google Analytics.
Google is disconnected as soon as the import finishes or fails.

The report

Once an import finishes, Missed revenue shows four tiles:
  • Views while sold out - product page views on days the variant was sold out. Views without a variant in the address count toward the product’s first variant.
  • Variants affected - sold-out variants with 10 or more views while sold out. Variants that don’t track stock, or keep selling when out of stock, are left out.
  • Missed orders - views while sold out × conversion rate.
  • Missed revenue - missed orders × the variant’s price. Some shoppers may have bought another variant or come back later.
The conversion rate is units sold online ÷ product page views on days no variant of that product was sold out. Bloom uses your selected dates when they have 300 or more such views. Otherwise it uses the 12-month rate and marks the row with a 12-month rate badge. Products with too few views show Not enough views. The table lists Days sold out, Views while sold out, Conversion rate, Estimated missed orders and Missed revenue (estimate) per product.
  • Date range - Last 12 months, Last 30 days, Last 90 days or custom dates.
  • Search products or variants, Product type and Sort - sort by missed revenue, views, days sold out, conversion rate, missed orders or name.
  • By product / By variant - group rows. Expand a product to see its sold-out variants.
  • Variant detail - click a variant for its working (views × conversion × price) and the Daily variant page views chart, with sold-out days striped.
  • Export CSV - downloads the report for the active filters.
The Bloom Home page shows a Missed revenue from sold-out variants summary. See Results.

Settings

Sold out → Settings shows the data range, when you last imported, the Google Analytics property, time zone and Views not matched to a product.
  • Import again - signs in to Google and rebuilds the report. The previous report stays visible while the new import runs, and if it fails.
  • Delete imported data - removes the report and the imported Google Analytics, stock and sales history after you confirm. Unavailable while an import runs.
  • Disconnect - revokes Google’s access. It only shows while Google is connected, for example while you’re choosing a property.

When the import fails

Bloom shows a banner with the reason and disconnects from Google. Click Connect Google Analytics to retry.
  • Bloom needs access to your store’s reports - allow the read_reports permission when you connect.
  • Shopify didn’t share your sales history - Shopify reports need approval for protected customer data. Contact Bloom support, then connect again.
  • Google Analytics access wasn’t granted - connect again and allow read-only access.
  • No Google Analytics 4 property found - connect with the Google account that owns your store’s property.
  • No product page views in that property - no product page views in the last 12 months. Click Try a different property.
  • No variant-level page views in Google Analytics - no page addresses include ?variant=. Click Try a different property.
  • Bloom lost access to Google Analytics - access was removed mid-import. Connect again.
Only a signed-in staff member can connect Google Analytics, and only one import runs at a time.
