# Glide quick start

> Turn on the Glide app embed in your Shopify theme so page views start flowing into the Traffic report, then check the embed status in Glide.

Glide has one setup step: switch on its **App embeds** toggle. There's nothing else to configure. Until the embed is on, Glide records nothing.

> The embed doesn't send page views from the theme editor. Visit your live storefront to generate traffic.

## Enable the embed

1. In Shopify admin, open **Apps → Glide**.
2. On **Traffic report**, find the **App embed** card at the top right. It reads **Inactive** until the embed is on.
3. Click the card. It opens the theme editor with **App embeds** selected.
4. Switch **Glide** on, then click **Save**.
5. Return to **Apps → Glide**. The card reads **Active**.

You can also go to **Online Store → Themes → Customise → App embeds** and toggle **Glide** there.

The card re-checks when you return to the Glide tab.

## When data first appears

* **Activity** shows page views within seconds of a visit. Open the storefront in another tab, then check [Activity](https://help.goodnative.co/glide/activity.md).
* **Traffic report** updates hourly. Until the first hour is processed, the chart reads *"No pageviews in this reporting window yet. The report updates hourly, so check back soon."*

## What gets recorded

Home, product, collection, page, blog, search, cart and policy pages. Account, checkout and order pages are not recorded. Glide inherits your Shopify customer privacy banner - see [Data and privacy](https://help.goodnative.co/policies/data-and-privacy.md#glide).
